Trashumancias en la Real Academia Estaba escribiendo una frase y de pronto una palabra se apoderó de mi mente, y me decía: “yo soy la palabra que necesitas ¡ahora! – trashumante…” Pero no siendo yo trashumante (¿o sí?), no me sentía inmediatamente capacitado para usarla sin averiguaciones adicionales. ¿Quizá significaba algo completamente diferente? ¿Un tejado de choza por el cual sale el humo del carbón de palo de la rudimentaria cocina – tras-humeante? Sólo había una manera de obtener certeza: acudir a la infalible Real Academia. Con confianza le indiqué al buscón real que me indicara, si fuese posible, el significado de “trashumante”. Sin más me informó que
1. adj. Dicho del ganado o de sus conductores: Que trashuma.
2. adj. Perteneciente o relativo a la trashumancia.
Hmmmm…. algo así ya me había pasado una vez… Pero al menos la opción de la choza había sido descartada. Sin miedo, decidí zambullirme en las profundidades semánticas del diccionario y pregunté por “trashuma”. Mala suerte:
La palabra trashuma no está en el Diccionario.
Pero la primera respuesta me había ofrecido una segunda oportunidad, e ingresé “trashumancia”, sólo para ser instruido que aquella es
acción o efecto de trashumar
¡Una tercera oportunidad para descubrir los profundos secretos del concepto! Sentí que el diccionario me estaba dispensando favores posiblemente inmerecidos. Temblando, le solicité a buscón que me instruyera sobre “trashumar”. ¡Bingo!
